Peace, Justice and Environment Group
A small group of the congregation who feel strongly about our beautiful planet and how unjustly many of it's inhabitants are treated. The group was originally formed after the launch of Make Poverty History Campaign, when we spent the night outside in Westminster with many thousands of like minded people.
We meet about 4 times a year to discuss ways in which to inform the congregation about various issues regarding peace, justice and the environment. For example The Creation Garden has been recreated and is used as a teaching aid at Junior Church. The Traidcraft Stall is available every third Sunday during coffee. Articles are written for the church magazine about a variety of issues. Appropriate fund raising and social awareness events are organised ie The Big Brew, The Mission to Seafarers, Diocesan Lents Appeals and Christian Aid.?
