St John's School

                                                                                                                                             St Johns school

St John's is a Christian school for the community with an aim 'to nurture and inspire our children to develop a love of learning in a supportive Christian community and become the best they can be'.

The School’s Aims
To work together and be the best you can
To care for and support one another
To respect and value one another and the environment

The School’s Ethos
We believe that the distinctive characteristic that gives our school the ‘good feel’ factor is due to the Christian ethos which underpins and permeates all we do at St John’s. It is this highly valued and widely shared ethos which makes our school special to us.

The School Vision
The school has emphasised the following key Bible verse, vision statement and Christian values:

I can do everything through Christ who gives me strength’.
Philippians 4:13.

“Our ethos is deeply rooted in the Bible, underpinned by faith and committed to educational excellence. In our community we respect that everyone is uniquely made in the image of God. We grow together in wisdom, compassion, strength and instil a sense of hope for all to flourish.  We make a difference.”

Faith - Is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see
Strength – God presents us with the strength to build and progress in our life and the lives of others.
Compassion - We are fair, we care and show understanding towards others.
Wisdom - Building confidence, discipline and knowledge to fully develop our talents in all areas of our lives.
Hope - Coping wisely with situations that will help guide us into fulfilling our aspirations

Our Rector has been the Chair of Governors since 2015 and is always happy to answer questions about the school's distinctively Christian vision, how it has been established and how it is promoted across the school community (and beyond) to enable all pupils and adults to flourish.

It is a tremendous privilege to have a Church of England School within the parish, and over the years St John’s Church and St John’s School have enjoyed having a very close relationship with each other.  This relationship continues today with many children attending both the church and school.

If your child or children regularly attend our church services, subject to the admissions points criteria set by the school (which may vary year to year), you will be able to include this within your school admission application.
