Baptisms
In Baptism, God calls us out of darkness into his marvellous light.
The birth of a baby is a special event for the family, and is celebrated in many different ways. Baptism is often an important part of these celebrations.
We believe that each person is unique and is loved by God.
At Baptism we are welcomed into the family of God and we are set off on "the journey of a lifetime." We are supported in this commitment by our fellow Christians, all of whom are at different stages of their own journey.
Although the majority of those baptised at St John's are babies, there is no upper age limit. It is quite usual for toddlers, children, young people and adults to be baptised.
Baptisms take place on Sundays, either within the 9.30am Parish Eucharist Service, or in a separate Service.
If you worship regularly at St John's, or live in the parish, we shall be happy to discuss arrangements for Baptism.
