At St John’s Church Stanmore we want everyone who comes to our church to feel welcome and able to participate fully in our worship and other activities.  We are a friendly church and are committed to trying our best to ensure all needs are accommodated.

The church was built in 1850 and there are some limitations.  Wherever feasible we have made adjustments to ensure as many people as possible can be part of our community and are always looking at what else we might be able to do now or in the future.

If you have any questions, please call our Parish Office in advance (020 8954 7064) or send an email (parish@stjohnschurchstanmore.org).

Access to the building

The main door has a small number of steps to access the body of the church.  Ramped access is available at the Uxbridge Road side of the church (opposite the lych gate and below the tower clock).  It is helpful if you can let someone know at the main church entrance and assistance will be provided.

Our Welcome Team, Duty Warden, or Rector will be happy to show you to an area suitable for wheelchairs.

Car Park
We do not have a car park or any disabled parking, but there is parking in local roads, subject to normal parking restrictions.

Hearing Loop
Our church has a hearing loop in place.

Orders of Service, Hymn Books and Pew Sheets
We have large print copies available and during our main Sunday service we use a screen.

Services
On Sundays we have two or three services as follows:

8am             Said Holy Communion in the chapel
9.30am        Parish Communion/All-Age Service in the church
5pm             Engage a monthly contemporary service in the church

Each Tuesday we have a service of Holy Communion in the chapel, beginning at 10.30am.

There are steps from the nave to the chancel within the church.  Holy Communion can easily be brought to you in your seat if preferable, please indicate this to the Warden or Clergy.

Toilet
There is a single toilet located accessed via the chapel, however it is not wheelchair accessible.

If you are coming from Harrow towards Stanmore/Edgware, the nearest bus stop is Bowls Close.

If you are coming by tube, the nearest station is Stanmore (Jubilee line) which is around 15 minutes walk from the church.  The H12 bus route starts at Stanmore Station.
